  • The principal mission of CGR is to conduct state-of-the-art research in areas relating to the transport and fate of contaminants in the subsurface. CGR coordinates a range of projects relating to the transport and fate of contaminants in soils and groundwater. The scope of the center includes the development of new sampling and site characterization techniques, the development of new analytical techniques and other improved groundwater remediation techniques. A database of published information on contaminant remediation using zero-valent metals is available. The page informs also about the MERL (Metals for Environment Remediation and Learning) CD-ROM Project, that presents chemical concepts embedded in a story of environmental technology development.

    • GWRTAC compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information on innovative ground-water remediation technologies. GWRTAC prepares reports by technical teams selectively chosen from Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), the University of Pittsburgh, and other supporting institutions, and also maintains an active outreach program. The site provides extensive information on groundwater remediation technologies. It offers numerous reports for download (pdf format), a hydrology glossary, a mailing list, a calendar of events, and annotated links to related resources.
