The Swiss AIDS Federation was founded in 1985 by a group of gay men. During the first years of the epidemic, homosexual men were affected most by AIDS, and they were quick to recognize the impact of this disease. Today, the Swiss AIDS Federation is the parent organization of 21 cantonal and regional AIDS federations and another 24 organizations which actively combat HIV and AIDS.
