The mission of the Leibniz Institute for Marine Science is "to investigate the chemical, physical, biological, and geological processes in the ocean and their interaction with the seafloor and the atmosphere." The Institute's web site offers information on its four major research divisions (ocean circulation and climate dynamics, marine biogeochemistry, marine ecology, and dynamics of the ocean floor) and research topics and projects within them. The site also provides information on Institute facilities, committees, news and events, and educational involvement. The site is available in English and German versions; however, there are several sections that have not yet been translated into English.
