The Canadian Food Information Council (CFIC) is a national, non-profit organization that works in partnership with the food, nutrition, health and scientific community, nationally and internationally and with media, nationally.
They are an independent organization, launched March 1999, with the singular focus of delivering fact-based information on current food, food safety and nutrition issues to our partners in professional communications - those who connect directly with Canadians - particularly media.
As a broker they link media and other partners in professional communications to food, nutrition and health experts; as a resource they provide members and communicators with science-based information on current issues.
CFIC facilitates access to science based information on food, food safety and nutrition topics; promoting an environment where science-based information is in the public domain, driving public opinion and consumer choices. CFIC does not lobby or conduct research, and has no political agenda.
