Founded in 1920, the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) is part of the Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, specialising in polar regions. From this site, downloads of sea-ice, satellite and geophysical data may be undertaken, in addition to access to polar photo galleries and information on publication, research and AARI facilities. Links to Russian meteorological and climate services are also available. The site is available in English and Russian.
