Water Resources Management is the integrating concept for a number of water sub-sectors such as hydropower, water supply and sanitation, irrigation and drainage, and environment. An integrated water resources perspective ensures that social, economic, environmental and technical dimensions are taken into account in the management and development of water resources. This site serves as a central organizing point for water as a cross-cutting issue throughout the World Bank. It addresses water as a resource in its many dimensions, serves to assess and disseminate emerging lessons and shared experiences, to publicize policies and guidelines, facilitate cooperation on water issues and to address issues of knowledge generation, management, and enhancing skills.
