  • 阿尔弗雷德魏格纳极地与海洋研究所

    阿尔弗雷德魏格纳极地与海洋研究所（AWI）总部设在不莱梅港，另外还有三个研究单元，分别是波茨坦研究中心，黑尔戈兰岛生物研究所和叙尔特岛瓦登海研究站。主要开展极地与海洋领域的研究，研究目标区域涉及南北极及温带海域，重点关注研究变化中的地球、海洋、海岸和极地系统，理解地球、海洋和环境的复杂变化，提供可持续性的应对全球环境变化的策略，为政府决策和社会各界提供科学依据。通过实地观测，开展海洋环流、极地海域的物质和能量传输、极地气候等过程对全球气候系统影响的数值模拟；开展水团在北冰洋南部的变化及其对世界海洋影响的海洋学研究；开展不同时空尺度气候过程的区域性和全球性调查研究，重点开展长期气候振荡的数值模拟。

    • The main fields of research of the Potsdam Research Unit of AWI are terrestrial geoscience studies in the periglacial regions at the margins of inland ice sheets and in permafrost areas as well as model and experimental investigations of atmospheric processes in the polar regions. This site features the research unit and provides general information about current research programs, staff and facilities as well as a frequently asked questions section for school children. Further, it provides data bases with meteorological and oceanographic observations of the different stations (e.g. ozon soundings, temperature, wind) as well as satellite images and the "Hydrographic Atlas of the Southern Ocean".

    • The Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) was established in 1980 with a mission to improve understanding of ocean-ice-atmosphere interactions, the animal and plant kingdoms of the Arctic and Antarctic, and the evolution of the polar continents and seas. The Institute's web site offers information on its main divisions (geosciences, biosciences, climate sciences), new technologies, and general services, as well as on its history and organization. Visitors to the site will also find information on AWI research topics and projects, working groups, publications, facilities, collaborative work, talks, workshops, and conferences.
