Safe Work Australia has implemented a Nanotechnology Work Health and Safety Program. Fourteen research reports, a work health and safety assessment tool for handling engineered nanomaterials and one safe handling guidance document have been published The APVMA has commissioned the development of a series of ‘reflection papers’ on nanomaterials in agricultural and veterinary chemicals and chemical products.
The Department of the Environment has commissioned a program of work regarding the environmental fate of nanomaterials. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has published various scientific papers in 2013 addressing human health and/ or environmental safety aspects of nanomaterials.
