  • As one of seven United Kingdom Research Councils, the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) funds and manages research and training in earth system science. The NERC web site contains information on the Council and its science activities, funding schemes, publications, and environmental data. Visitors to this site can obtain information on the research conducted and data available through links to the home pages of the NERC Research Centres, university units and laboratories, and data centers.

    • The International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC) was formed in 1986 as an international non-governmental organization (NGO), and given legal status in 1987 by the Japanese Environment Agency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ILEC was organized with the aim of advancing international cooperation for conservation of lake environments and promoting sustainable management of the world's lakes and reservoirs. The site provides information about the ILEC, news, the World Lake Conference and the 3rd World Water Forum, newsletters (Html or Pdf format), the journal of Lakes & Reservoirs, Guidelines of Lake Management series, World Lake Database, online forum and links to cooperating organizations etc.
