It is a fundamental resource necessary for human well-being and ecosystem functioning. At the same time, water is a resource under considerable pressure. Due to increasing water sector challenges such as increasing water demand, global climatic change and a multitude of use conflicts the joint effort geared towards sustainable management of water is central for future societal developments. The East Africa Young Water Professionals Conference under the theme” Water for tomorrow: A collective responsibility” will provide a forum for professionals especially the young working in water and wastewater research, technology and management to present their work and share their experience on the role of different stakeholders in ensuring that this fundamental resource is preserved for the next generation. Papers and posters on all aspects of the Water Cycle, including water and wastewater research, technology and management, social and environmental aspects are invited. The conference is open to all professionals in the water sector especially the Young Water Professionals in East Africa and the International community. The participants will have the opportunity to showcase their works, share their experience, network and make contributions to preserving water for the future. We expect several hundred delegates to attend the conference.
