National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC-Uganda), in Conjunction with Africa Water Association (AfWA) and International Water Association (IWA)is pleased to announce the Leadership and Change Management Summit (LCM-Summit) to crown the launch of its modern International Resource Centre (IREC)/Africa Water Academy.The summit is scheduled to take place on 14-15th December, 2011, at the NWSC-IREC, Kampala, Uganda. It is planned that H.E the President of Republic of Uganda will officiate the opening and commissioning ceremony.
The Summit will be preceded by the Young Water Professionals (YWP) Conference (12-13th December, 2011) and the AfWA Communications Training Workshop (11-13th December, 2011).
The LCM-Summit will include, among others, a high-impact Utility Leaders Forum (ULF) and a number of sessions/technical cafes on; a sanitation for Africa session, pro-poor benchmarking, water operators partnerships, sustainable water and sanitation provision and utility business technology solutions.
The ULF (by invitation only) and sessions/technical cafes will be convened by different organisations, presenting their deep-rooted tested experiences and practices that are beneficial to utility leaders and practitioners. In a nutshell, the LCM-Summit will be a “bazaar” of best utility practices that can catalyse change and lead to high efficiency gains.
Consequently, the Summit will bring together the best scientists, policy makers, utility leaders and managers in the field of leadership development, pro-poor services, sanitation and accompanying change management tools, technological options and interventions. We invite all chief executive officers (CEOs), senior utility managers, scientists/researchers and young water professionals (YWPs) to come and exchange ideas and experiences on utility management challenges and solutions in Africa and similar operating contexts.
