The Global Ocean Data Assimilation Experiment (GODAE) was established as a system of observations, communications, modeling, and assimilation with the goal of making ocean monitoring and prediction a routine activity, similar to weather forecasting. The GODAE web site offers information on the program's background, organization, working groups, projects, and meetings. The site also provides general information on the science of ocean observing, the observational data (sea surface topography and temperature, surface winds) and products generated, and applications of that data. Other items found on the site include links to GODAE-related organizations and a variety of documents (e.g., working group reports and meeting presentations).
