Following a request from the European Commission, the Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed (FEEDAP) was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on L-lysine monohydrochloride (HCl), technically pure, produced by microbial fermentation using a genetically modified strain of Escherichia coli (CGMCC 3705) and L-lysine sulphate produced by fermentation using a genetically modified strain of strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum (CGMCC 3704), for all animal species.
