Journal of Chinese Libraries (JCL) will be the first English language scholarly journal in library and information sciences in Mainland China, which will be sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and published by its National Science Library.

The goal of JCL is to provide an open forum for Chinese and international scholars and experts in library and information sciences to exchange the results of their researches. The journal also aims to show Chinese audience the development in the various fields of library and information sciences, which are especially concerned with innovations in information services and technologies for libraries and other information organizations worldwide. In addition, the journal will offer a new source for international professionals to learn of new development in Chinese libraries.

The Editorial Board of JCL will include prominent scholars from China and other nations. JCL welcomes domestic and international submissions related to information in society, scholarly communications, and other related aspects.
